The Coolest Telescope

Inch 07 | 4.2015

Telescopes are usually made of long tubes or large dishes, but this one is different: A cubic kilometre of Antarctic ice strewn with 5,160 detectors is constantly searching the sky for cosmic rays and neutrinos. The weird nature of their working field and the extreme environmental conditions take their toll on the scientists who work at the IceCube.
